The 295th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Company

This web site is dedicated to the men of the 295th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Company, an average group of American WWII soldiers who performed their duties until the enemy was defeated.

Thomas E. Coon's "History of the 295th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Company" (commonly referred to as the "Red Book") is narrated by Marv Allen and features the well documentated account of the company from its formation until post-war Europe.

"How the War Was Won in Europe" as remembered by Bliss Leslie is a very special memoir provided to us by grandson, Bram Strijbos. This memoir is one chapter from a larger family book entitled, "Treks, Tracks & Traces of the Bliss, Leslie and Related Families".

On behalf of the 295th H.M. Company family, I would like to thank Bram Strijbos and the entire family for making this story available via our web site. I will personally be updating the Wikipedia History referencing this information as a source document. Up until now, all I had to reference was Thomas E. Coon's account, as well as testimony from surviving veterans.

Thank you for visiting the 295th. Special thanks to our amazing designer, Carl Desmond, of www.niceguy.com!
